A letter from our founder

Why I started CustomSole

I grew up in the United States and went to college here. Somewhere between long days on campus and my first years of work, I noticed how much my feet shaped the rest of my day. When they felt good, I moved more and simply felt better. When they didn’t, everything felt a little harder.

Custom insoles helped. What never made sense to me was the price. A custom pair can cost hundreds of dollars and may take an appointment or two. The more I looked into it, the more it seemed people were paying for the markup, not the insole.

So I went back to Guangdong, where my family is from, to find people who make custom insoles well. I partnered with an experienced manufacturing team that 3D-prints custom arch supports with industrial equipment and real care.

CustomSole is the result: a scan on your phone, an arch printed from that scan for each foot, and one honest price of $69.99. No clinic visit, no sizing guesswork, nothing extra.

That is what bringing a product back to its real value means to me. I hope you feel it with every step.

Why we started

Custom shouldn’t be a luxury

An insole shaped to your own feet can make everyday walking and standing more comfortable. Yet custom insoles can cost hundreds of dollars, so most people settle for a one-shape-fits-all pair off the shelf.

We wanted a custom fit that more people could say yes to.

Going back to Guangdong

Experienced makers, careful work

Guangdong has been a center of manufacturing for decades, and it is where my family’s story begins. There we found a manufacturing partner that specializes in 3D-printed custom insoles.

Your scan becomes a pair made only for you: each arch shell is printed for its own foot, then finished with cushioning foam, a heel pad and a breathable top cover. Every pair is made to order.

How it’s made

Technology & credentials

We work with an established manufacturing partner in Guangdong that focuses on 3D-printed insoles. Here is what stands behind every pair.

Technology

  • Designed from scan data

Each pair is shaped from foot-scan data, not picked from a size chart.

  • HP Multi Jet Fusion printing

Arch shells are printed on industrial HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printers.

  • PA12 nylon shells

A strong, resilient nylon that holds its shape step after step.

  • Layered comfort

  • One pair at a time

Every pair is printed individually for the person who ordered it.

  • R&D to production

In-house design and development, and a dedicated digital 3D printing facility that runs from single pairs to large production.
